So no, you won't hear any 'difference'. But when you hear a really good DSD source, or even a 192 or 96 kHz PCM source transcoded to DSD, then yes you can hear the difference. But as you have shown, so many Pop and Rock albums areJake Purcheshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06570863856568223486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781727111866727703.post-16622190818983209192021-06-11T01:23:55.781-07:002021-06-11T01:23:55.781-07:00To rely on this Lipshitz's and Vanderkooy'...To rely on this Lipshitz's and Vanderkooy's old 2001 paper to objectively assess DSD compared to CD standard is very much like to rely on the Ptolemy cosmology to know about the physics of the Universe. Especially since this paper is not free of biases towards the proponents of the DVD-A at that time, as much as comparable AES Convention papers from that same time frame that were in favorScytaleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12547876266976589863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781727111866727703.post-30372191244338929642016-10-12T06:16:43.713-07:002016-10-12T06:16:43.713-07:00I'm a bit late to the party here, but I though...I'm a bit late to the party here, but I thought I would just add that Stanley Lipshitz and John Vanderkooy wrote a great paper about why DSD is actually inferior to CD standard PCM encoding (it's because DSD is a 1 bit system and therefore has tremendous amounts of quantization noise/error):
http://sjeng.org/ftp/SACD.pdf

Also, the Michael Bublé album is mastered by Ted Andershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15587427344826336157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781727111866727703.post-61757508688614562412016-04-08T01:53:56.452-07:002016-04-08T01:53:56.452-07:00Here's also an article about MP3 ID3 Tag edito...Here's also an article about MP3 ID3 Tag editor.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10290832159265227306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781727111866727703.post-63158007647212931612015-08-28T18:15:24.377-07:002015-08-28T18:15:24.377-07:00Great article. Recorded in DSD and probably the best sounding recording of an orhcestra I've heard. Similar quality from DSD recordings from Channel Classics.

I also prefer well done DSD transcriptions from analogue.
